Steve has over 20 years of experience in country-level general management, business development across countries and world-wide commercial change management. A versatile professional, he has worked in fast-moving-consumer-goods (FMCG), construction materials, telecommunication, mobile financial services, management consulting and now, Healthcare.
He joined HHI from Telkom Kenya where was Managing Director for Mobile and Digital Financial Services. Before that, he was Director for Regional Sales & Operations at Safaricom plc. Steve has also been (at different periods of his career) Country Manager for Uganda at The Coca- Cola Company, Commercial Director at Lafarge East Africa/Bamburi Cement and Director for Sales Force Effectiveness at Lafarge in France.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Nairobi and an MBA from the United States International University. He has also had Executive Leadership training at INSEAD in France and at THNK School of Creative Leadership in the Netherlands. He is a certified Executive Coach, a certified Systemic Team Coach and formerly a Visiting Professor of Marketing at the ALU Business School in Kigali, Rwanda.
Benard Omwenga is HHI’s Group CFO. Bernard has served as Group CFO with AAR Insurance for over 15 years and has rich and diverse hands-on experience and broad knowledge of the Eastern African (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia) marketplace.
Benard is a Senior Accounting and Financial Management Executive with 28 years of progressive experience in finance and operations management, most of them with reputable multi-national corporations with operations across Eastern, Central and Southern Africa.
Benard is a qualified accountant and a member of the Institute of Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Financial Modeller (CFM) and a fellow of the International Academy of Business and Financial Management (IABFM).
Philippa is the Group Operations Director at HHI where she provides strategic oversight in the areas of people management, operational efficiency, business development, quality and performance improvement. She is an experienced leader with over 15 years’ global experience in operational and strategic management roles across East Africa, North America, the United Kingdom, including 10 years’ experience in healthcare management in East Africa. She is a management advisory professional with a background in management information and financial technology solutions implementations.
Prior to her role at HHI, she worked at Nakasero Hospital, a leading private hospital in Uganda and part of the HHI group, as Chief Operating Officer. She has held several management advisory roles with Pricewaterhousecoopers (Uganda) and financial technology firms in Canada and Scotland.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, Masters of Economics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and has undertaken post-graduate studies in Strategic Healthcare Management.
She is passionate about corporate governance and strategy, and has undertaken studies in company direction by the Institute of Director’s Academy, through The Boardroom Africa, a network of female executives covering more than 40 countries in and outside the African region, built through an endorsement model. Philippa also sits on the board of CEED Concordia – an NGO focused on community empowerment through education, affiliated to Concordia University – Canada.
Reagan is the Group Head of Internal Audit at Hospital Holdings Investment Limited (HHI) where he provides strategic oversight in risk management and business development. He is an experienced leader with over 15 years experience in Audit, Finance and Accounting.
Prior to his role at HHI, he worked at IPS Group as the Group Senior Auditor, managing risk for 13 companies, NAS SERVAIR Group as the Internal Auditor overseeing eight companies and Strathmore University as an Accountant. Through his career he has gained enormous experience in diverse industries i.e., manufacturing, hydro-power generation and FMCGs. He is a member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)-United States, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK).
Currently, he is pursuing an MBA in strategic management at the Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom. He holds a double major, Finance and Accounting Bachelor of Commerce degree from Strathmore University, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He has extensively trained in ACL software, a leading Computer Aided Audit Technique (CAAT) with Surtech Limited, South Africa. He has also undertaken several management trainings both locally and internationally. He is passionate about Strategy, Risk management and Corporate Governance.
Timothy Otieno has a passion for technology and how it can be harnessed to improve quality of service, service delivery, improve outcomes as well as improve lives and the list is endless. Having been in the Healthcare ICT for over 10 years, Timothy Otieno has had experience on how technology has impacted healthcare significantly. One of the few who have successfully implemented telemedicine, where specialized skill can be utilized by patients who are geographically worlds apart, like Garissa County, Narok County and Nairobi County, and the same skills can be passed on to medics on the other side.

Margaret is the Group Accountant attached to the finance department. She is charged with accounting and financial reporting for the holding company. Margaret has over 14 years’ experience in finance, audit and fiscal compliance in various sectors which include real estate, FMCG, Information Technology and Trading.

Kevin Kalwa is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. He works as the Internal Auditor at Hospital Holdings Investment (HHI) Management Services Limited. He had earlier served as the Internal Auditor, AAR Healthcare Holdings Limited and provided consultancy services (Audit, Tax and Financial Management) prior to joining the AAR Group. Before that, he served as the Management Accountant of the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK), Nairobi.
He has twelve years professional experience, over four years in providing internal audit services to the HHI Group and its subsidiaries in Africa, and over seven years’ experience in finance.
As the Internal Auditor, HHI Group, he deputizes the Group Head of Internal Audit and plays an active role in planning and execution of routine, investigative audits, and general risk management. He conducts these activities as per the IFRSs, ISAs and IPPF standards, to increase efficiency of the internal audit control systems, and promote good corporate governance.
Ronald is a data analyst in the internal audit department and has been instrumental in the implementation of data analytics and automation of audit.
Prior to joining HHI, Ronald was a data analytics consultant, where he successfully worked on implementation of ACL data analytics within the internal audit, risk, and compliance, across different sectors (HealthCare, Financial, Hospitality and Manufacturing) in East Africa.
Ronald holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and statistics from the University of Nairobi and has pursued various data analytics courses.
Hermia is the Executive Assistant to GCEO. She is an experienced administrative professional and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Human Resource Management and Higher Diploma in Business Management.
She has over 13 years of experience in administrative duties in industries spanning trade and logistics, retail, and hospitality. Prior to joining Hospital Holdings Investment Management Services, she was the Personal Assistant to the CEO of Deacons Kenya Limited.
Hermia is a highly motivated administrative professional with vast knowledge and brings on board her extensive knowledge of customer service, human relations, and management from years as an administrative official in various corporates.
